Sue has over thirty years experience in the commercial, not for profit and public sectors and is a senior leader with significant change management experience at organisational, team and individual levels with a solid track record in employee engagement.
Throughout her career, she has always focused on effective employee engagement – through trade union representation as well as other forms of staff involvement – and is convinced that involving staff in decisions that affect their working lives is the key to a motivated workforce prepared to go that extra mile for the success of the business.
She has worked with a wide range of organisations on the partnership agenda across both the private and public sectors – such as NHS trusts, the General Social Care Council, BAE Systems, the Prison Service and National Grid. She has also worked on a project funded through the Union Modernisation Fund (UMF) with Accord and Unite at HBOS and is responsible for all aspects of the business of the Partnership Institute.
Sue has excellent interpersonal skills, develops relationships quickly and is strong on consensus building. She has high personal integrity with an energetic and positive outlook. With strong project management and organisational skills, she has a pragmatic approach to getting things done and making things happen.
She is a recognised Myers Briggs qualified assessor, holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Health & Social Services Management (with distinction), an NVQ level 5 in Management and a Diploma in Philosophy. |

Jeff Kelly is a trainer and facilitator who leads workshops on partnerships and team working. He has been an active trade unionist for over 30 years and, during his varied career, he has had the opportunity to represent members of several unions including TGWU (Unite) Amicus (Unite) and the POA. Jeff served as a prison officer and was able to improve his skills as a tutor by teaching prisoners Enhanced Thinking Skills; he was also a hostage negotiator and has helped present the course to new negotiators. Jeff has also tutored a full range of Trade Union reps courses as well as Health and Safety.
Jeff has worked on various change management projects within the Home Office and Prison Service and has successfully enabled unions and management to work effectively together to obtain good results. During his career, he has gained the City & Guilds 7306 Certificate in Teaching and is qualified to NVQ D32/D3 and A1 assessor levels. He also holds a Certificate in Personnel Practice and a Certificate in Training Practice and is an Accredited Mediator.
Jeff has considerable experience in designing and delivering partnership training courses which have helped organisations to develop successful partnership agreements. He has worked with many organisations, in both the public and private sectors, such as the NHS, Ministry of Justice, Cabinet Office, DFID,HBOS and BAE Systems, to name but a few.
Jeff believes that the way forward for industrial relations is partnership working and this is fundamental in improving working conditions and job security, as well as in sustaining a competitive organisation. He is committed to delivering partnership that is both effective and sustainable. One of Jeff’s key objectives is to enable jointly determined and sustainable approaches to emerge that balance the business and social needs of organisations and enhances the organisation’s economic viability and the quality of life at the workplace. |
